Someone Else

Someone Else
by Nuwan Ishantha

Is this you who I see?
Or is it someone else?
Or is it someone else that I saw in you?

Is this confusion?
Or is it that I "was" confused?
Confused that you were someone else, when you were still actually you?

Am I who I think I am?
Or am I someone else?
Or am I just not the one I thought I was?

Am I?
For I see that you are still who you are
But that you are still someone else.

I am someone else.

is it just me or is it that there is something more to this poem, that you didn't write?

There is always something more to a poem...

Of course n, the only reason why I posted this poem in my blog is that it says something that I don't want to make obvious.

Nuwan, thanks a lot for a great poem. I think you should write more of them. Btw, what happened to your blog? I saw you start one. But it seems to be private now!

Yep, I closed down my livespace. I sort of thought it was getting a bit too generalistic....You not on facebook?

Well, no! I lost my faith on the whole social networking thing a long time ago. It has become just another way to know that you have this many friends... but who cares... I am more into blogging and I find it a lot more interesting, especially blogging anonymously... obviously not this one :)

BTW, Is facebook any better than hi5?

Oh! now only I saw this. writeclique.net says:
"All rights reserved by the writer. Not to be copied, distributed or otherwise used without permission."

Guess you would grant me the permission to post your poem here.

(I'm going the very corporate way. Do it first and ask for permission later. You can almost certainly be sure of a favorable resolution... ha ha!)

To be honest, this is the first time I am hearing about. "All rights reserved by the writer. Not to be copied, distributed or otherwise used without permission." :)

I haven't tried hi5 - so I can't really compare it with Facebook. True - the "social networking" idea does have some downs - but it also sort of encourages one to keep in touch with people one is in danger of loosing connections with.

I read your first post, longtime ago, and it was amazing. Wonder what restrains you from posting more!
